One with Nature is a Metaphysical Centre operating under the guidance of Dr. Debra Tate (aka Dr. Deb) who offers a variety of services, workshops and Yearlong Shamanism Study Programs. Her passion is to teach those wishing to further their relationship with self, life and others.
One with Nature’s teachings is a source for spiritual growth and finding meaning and purpose to one’s life.
My Passion
First off, let me say Welcome and that it is a pleasure to meet you – even if virtually and miigwech (thank you) for your interest in my work.
So, a Coles notes version of myself with a little bit of my life story and how my passion in Shamanism was introduced.
My name is Debra or aka Dr. Deb. I have my Doctorate in Metaphysics specializing in Transpersonal Psychology and my passion is Shamanism. I have been walking this Path for 26 years and teaching Shamanism for 24 years. We are all sovereigned beings and have a birthright to be autonomous, free and happy and that is what drives my passion – to help people recognize their sovereignty and that they are deserving of a happy life doing or just being who they truly are from a heart-centered space.
I have always enjoyed helping others to find their strengths – their gifts and to teach them tools, resources, ceremonies etc. that will help them to spiritually evolve into their autonomy and to provide opportunity for transformation and personal development.
After a 27 year marriage ended – I decided to go back to university and become a teacher. Well, I did – an English teacher and began teaching ESL to newcomers from countries all over the globe. I taught them English – but they taught me patience, resilience, perseverance and humbleness. I had been teaching ESL for approximately 12 years then one day I was having tea with a very dear friend. We are both spiritually minded and so we usually had like-minded conversations and this one day – she mentioned Shamanism.
She continued talking and I interrupted and said what was that word that started with S? She reamed off a few words until she repeated Shamanism. Well that began my journey of who I am today.
I studied in the Longhouse for many years with many different teachers, travelled to the US to learn, travelled to Spain and walked the Camino to learn and am still learning today. Our Soul’s journey is a lifetime experience. Once back from the Camino – I embarked upon completing my Psychology degree which I did and thought I have come this far – what’s another few years to do my Master’s and then it was recommended that I continue to my Doctorate. I completed my Doctorate in December, 2018. I had long admired Sandra Ingerman for her humble work in Shamanism helping and teaching so many and I actually said to myself back in 1994 – self, one day I am going to train with that lady. Well fast forward 24 years and in 2018, I completed Sandra Ingerman’s two-year Teacher training in Arizona. I love learning and I love teaching and sharing the knowledge.
I was asked to teach by my teachers from the Longhouse – and so embarked on what is now a 27 year life of teaching and offering ceremonies. I originally started the Nagual Healing Centre in London, Ontario but when I moved to Manitoulin Island in 2007 – I was guided to change the name to One with Nature. One with Nature offers Yearlong Shamanism Programs for those seeking to find their meaning and purpose in Life, looking to heal past wounds and Ancestral Lineages and/or for those wishing to embark upon a Path of Shamanism. One with Nature also offers Advanced Shamanic workshops together with Healing the Sacred Circle – a Yearlong course in personal transformation and spiritual development.
Whether it is an Introduction to the Spirit of Shamanism or a life-long Path of Shamanism – One with Nature can provide those teachings.
